About Glyncornel Angling Association

Glyncornel Angling Association, is home to one of the finest trout fisheries in the whole of South Wales.

Stocked regularly with both brown trout and rainbow trout, the lake has more to offer than your average catch and release small water.

The lake is open to fly fishing only, and is open from the 20th of March, to the 17th of October 2005.

Members are entitled to fish a maximum of three times a week, and have a bag limit of two fish per day (rainbow trout only).
Any brown trout caught is strictly on a catch and release basis.

The lake is regularly stocked with trout to 14 lb +.

Fishery record: 18lb 4oz rainbow trout.

Only season permits available. Adult and junior prices are shown in the "Welcome to Glyncornel A.A." section of this page. These prices are for new members only (reductions apply for existing members).

Season permits for Glyncornel lake also include fishing at our exclusive 10 mile stretch of the River Rhondda, where brown trout are also stocked regularly.

Competitions:

Held on the first Saturday of each month. Members wishing to enter should contact the chairman at least five days before.

Glyncornel Lake is situated within Rhondda's only nature reserve.

River Rhondda

Glyncornel Angling Association own the rights to over 10 miles of the River Rhondda, where brown trout are stocked regularly though out the fishing season. This years season starts on March the 3^rd and ends on September the 30^th.

Fishing is permitted on both banks from The Stag Hotel in Treorchy, to Barry Sidings Park in Trehafod. This also includes the stretch of river from the top of the Bwlch Mountain (adjacent to Cwmparc), to The Stag Hotel in Treorchy. This entitles the holder of the permit to over 10 miles of river to fish in.

This is the only fishing permit available that entitles any person to fish the River Rhondda on the above mentioned stretches.

Bag limit: 3 fish per day, 7 days a week (no fishmongers please!).

Prices: £25.00 full season (adult)

£16.00 full season (junior)

(no concessions)

Please note that permits are not available for sale at the riverbank. Anyone caught fishing without a permit will be prosecuted.

Freshwater fishing in England and Wales requires a valid Environmental Agency licence. People fishing without a valid licence are liable to prosecution.
